my question is: Why is the olive CdG39 divided in CdG and MM?



First 13. DBLE has worn the fourragere CdG39, than the fourragere MM avec olive CdG30, than two fourrageres MM/oliveCdG39 and the fourragere TOE.

Well, for the fourth palme at the TOE there would usually awarded the fourragere MM...instead the 13. DBLE got a second olive, in the colors of TOE.



So, one olive showing fourragere MM for CdG TOE, the other fourragre MM for CdG39.



Why is the olive 1939 divided?

This would only make sense on a fourragere LH.

Hi everyone,

13 DBLE won fourragère MM 39-45, and fourragère MM TOE
In fact 13 DBLE should wear two fourragères : 1) MM with gland MM/39 ; 2) MM with gland TOE (blue & red) . BUT someone imagined this too fastuous, and so decided to give only one fourragère with two different glands !

Is this "..avec une olive spéciale non réglementaire et inventée pour la circonstance .." the point why the Olive has this white discus in between?

But what is the "circonstance"

1) - 13 DBLE should have one fourragère MM for the WWII so it should wear a Yellow/green fourragère with a gland 1/2 MM & 1/2WWII

it is planed in the texts that a "gland" has the colour of the refered WW and the colour of the won fourragère .
2) - 13 DBLE should have one fourragère MM for the TOE so it should wear a Yellow/green fourragère with a gland TOE (blue & red) to show the "TOE" origin !

BUT ... someone decided to give 13 DBLE only one fourragère ... with the two glands ! (it saved money by this way, but it has never been planed with the official texts !)
