| Bonjour Mon Amis, What is this version of the French Wound Medal seen in the collection of another Forum member? The star seems to be green and the ribbons colour combination green/red refers to my knowledge to Legion Etrangere. Or does it??? Cordialement, Harri. |

These medals have been recently on the 'net for sale. To my knowledge, they have no significance at all.
Only two enamel colours were officially used : red for wounds in combat and white for civilians wounded by ennemy action (long range artillery shelling such as Paris by the "Bertha" gun for instance). They two kinds had different distinctive ribbons, neither having the colours shown on that picture.
It is reasonnably safe to say these green, black or other colour stars are total hogwash.

| Merci Veteran , for most reliefing information considering the medal. As much as intert helps us in sharing information to each others, it also gives some "dealers" a change to run after easy or fast money by selling, as you mentioned, hogwash. Anyway it is important that we share this Forum to ask for information and advises from eachthers. Cordialement, Harri |
