To one and all,

Hello and this is my first post amongst you all.

I have a number of French victory medals and some other related French medals. Some of them have a square hallmark on the edge. Is anyone able to identify the maker from this mark? I apologise for the poor quality of the photograph.

Regards from Sydney, Australia,
Robert

Hello RobW,

We are very proud to receive you on the FIM from such a far (and beautiful) country and at first we want to say you are really welcome here

No doubt you will find an answer to your question, and also to the next ones, because many of our members are really specialists about medals...

I just wished to indicate you a particular point of the forum rules (below) and it will be fine if you could introduce yourself to the FIM members...

http://www.forum-insignes-medailles.net/reglement-du-forum-f3/the-forum-rules-t8955.htm

I wish you a good day (may be a good night in your country...), and I hope we'll read you as often as possible...

Best regards RobW
Dark Vador

To Dark Vador and all,

Thanks for the kind greeting. I have accordingly introduced myself at the 'Nouveaux Membres' area.

I look forward to discussing the interallied victory medal series with everyone here. It is night-time here as I type this so the time difference will take a little to get used to.

Regards,
Rob

Hello RobW,

As I see, if it is nightime in your country, you are not really sleeping...

I am sorry to be unable to answer your question, and before you have a specialist answer on that point, may be I can send you a line on which you will find some subjects about these medals...

It will help you to spend time if you cannot sleep...

Best regards once again...

Hello Rob

Welcome to this website. I am sure you will enjoy the company and find adequate answers to your queries.

The hallmarks you show are typical of commercially struck medals (i.e. excluding the Paris Mint) wjhich does not mean they are illegitimate or fony. That is as much as I can contribute.

No doubt a knowledgeable member on this site will bring the exact answer.

Regards
Veteran
