Bonjour a tous,

Enclosed a picture of the latest Finnish beret badge. It is carried by the Air Force soldiers (conscripts and regulars) who serve in the Utti Jaeger Regt., which is our Special Forces. These guys are chopper pilots and mechanics and their instructors. The exact figure is unknown, but the estmiation is that there are less than 30 soldiers carrying this badge at the same time.

Hi again KR48. Nice picture.
The chopper is Finnish and from the unit mentioned above.
These Swedish soldiers are propably training together with Finnish Special Forces.
Eventhough they have the new Swedish camo uniform and the Swedish flag on the sleeve, they can also be recognised from long hair and sideburns , which are not tolereated in Finnish Army.
The Finnish Griffin beret badge is much bigger, I do not know the unit of these Swedes, but I will try to find out.

Are you able to speak Finnish or is it from the transltion program ?

No problem with the language, I knew you propably used the program as there ain't too meny Finnish speakers in the world.
Anyway, here's the symbol of the chopper Bn.
Unfortunately I couldn't find better picture. This symbol can bee seen between the soldiers on the side of the chopper.
The white/red ring is the life ring as the unit was previously also responsible for sea-rescue missions until it become part of the Special Forces.

If interested, the official web pages can be found from link www.mil.fi and there are pages in English language to be clicked at top right corner.

From previous checkings I know that there are some good info in Wikipedia about the subject and our military history as well, if not completed yet in French section, the English one seems to be well updated.

If these sites create some further questions, I am more than happy to answer, so be my quest. Just to inform the French members of the Forum, Finnish Defence Forces are using Apilas AT Missiles and Crotale AA Missile system.
