Are like modern medals all over the world... ugly and cheap :-(

Compare a wonderful silver Medaille Coloniale to a Commemorative Francaise :-(

Not only is the design of the Commemorative stolen from "Asterix and Obelix" but the quality is much lower....

Is it a question of modern esthetique? or is it a question of Money?

In the history of the OM there are varaitions and unofficial makers.... can we hope that some time in the future that some "Unofficial maker" will finally make a nice looking medal?

If soldiers 50 years ago spent money on nicer looking unofficial medals... why do soldiers today not do it?
