The Forum Rules

Hello and welcome to the English language section of the "Forum Insignes et Médailles".

This forum deals solely with Insignia and Military and Civil Medals of the world and is open to all.

However, a few rules governing this forum are to be respected :

Each
new member should start with introducing him/herself to the forum’s
community – The "NOUVEAU MEMBRES" thread is available for that purpose.
It
is strictly forbidden to engage in political, sectarial, religious,
racist, etc. discussions – this forum only deals with insignia
and worldwide orders, decorations and medals.
Also, orders,
decorations and medals of the 3rd Reich and/or WWII era are to be
considered military antiques and collection pieces belonging to the
realm of collectors or musea. Under no circumstances should they be
seen or used for ideological propaganda purposes nor for past or
present political aims. They are and will remain testimonies of our
history only. Any abuse against this rule will result in exclusion from
the forum and a formal complaint will be made.
Politeness is
appreciated by all … All messages ought to start with a greeting and
end with a goodbye. An admonishment will be sent to each member that
does not comply with this rule. If such member persists, a month’s
suspension will be enforced as a first measure and, in case of
continued neglect of this rule, exclusion from the forum will be
decided upon.
German 3rd Reich Insignia are strictly forbidden on this forum !!! A section on "foreign
insignia" is present elsewhere (see "INSIGNES NON-FRANCAIS"). The
medals’ section on the other hand deals with orders, decorations and
medals from all countries.
Copies or restrikes are forbidden on
this forum !!! Only the "BIDOUILLE" sections allow for posts to be made
on that topic. Sales of copies or restrikes are forbidden as well, even
when indicated to be such copies or restrikes !
Objects in the "VENTES" (Sales) section are to be accompanied by their asking price and, preferably, by one or more pictures.
Police force insignia are not allowed for sale … this to avoid their being used for illegal purposes.
The
number of sales in the "PETITES ANNONCES" is not unlimited. Thank you
for not posting too many. Any member displaying excessive activity
within this section may see his/her membership revoked.
You are
authorized to copy and store all texts and pictures published on this
forum. However, texts and pictures will remain the property of those
that posted them. It is, therefore, strictly forbidden to publish texts
or pictures downloaded from this forum in print or otherwise without
prior authorization from their owner.
Avatars, pseudos and
signatures of a racist, political, ideological, religious nature or of
a nature that may hurt people’s sensitivities, are forbidden. All
members not respecting this rule will be contacted by personal message
by the moderation team in order to effect the necessary changes. If not
acted upon properly and in the shortest delay, said members will be
excluded from the forum.
Similarly, it is forbidden to publish
on this forum any articles (complete or in part) from a book or other
publication without the author’s prior authorization. You are allowed,
in order to substantiate your own text, to cite from such publications
and/or post pictures provided you clearly indicate their source. Any
post not complying with this rule will be removed.
