Good Heavens, this is embarrassing

.
First thanks to jipe and KR48 for their assistance identifying these insignias

.
My friend asked me to identify these two and as I couldn't, I sent them to the Forum. I didn't even pay much attention to them as I don't want to deal with Soviet/Russian para insignias as there are so many fantasy insignias and fakes among them.
So I just glimpsed this and didn't notice that the language is Finnish. I was expecting cyrillic letters so I didn't even look. Damn me.
KR48 is right, the letters KSSNT mean
Karjalais-suomalainen sosialistinen neuvostotasavalta, which means Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic. This area is that part of Finnish Karelia that Finland lost to Soviet Union in Winter War and with this name it was known between 1940-1956. This gives the time perspective dating that badge.
The word
Parhain actually has nothing to do with paras at all. It means
the best and the lower word is
urheilija, which means
sportsman. So this is propably para or glider sportsbadge (or any aviation) for the civil paras or aviators trained by DOSAAF or some other civil aviation club sponsored by Soviet Army. It is more than propable that it has been manufactured in the 50's instead of 40's.
Cordialement, Harri
