Somewhere in the forum I noiced a picture and some comments of a Medaille MICECI of Ivory Coast.
Can anyone please explain to me what medal this is? Commemorative or what?....

Operation Licorne and Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) in Côte d'Ivoire (MICECI) mission
are two complementary strengths by their specificity and their structure, which work in the same objective
of restore peace in Côte d'Ivoire symbiosis.

In permanent liaison with the French operation Licorne forces, the MICECI ensures strict application of the cessation
of hostilities by the occupation zone observation and securing agreements while striving to win the confidence
of the parties to the conflict to maintain a climate.

Is it issued to all soldiers participating to the Opration Licorne?

Hi Harri ,

It's not an award for french soldiers of LICORNE
but for soldiers of five national contingents provided by Senegal, Niger, Togo, Benin and Ghana. The MICECI is passed
from 5 April 2004 under the command of the UN in the operation of UN in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI), new mission
created by resolution 1528. It's a commemorative medal but it is prohibited port by the GCLH.

Hello.

No, this medal was awarded to African soldiers from C.E.D.E.O.A. (Communauté Economique des Etats Africains de l'Ouest) who served in Ivory Coast. I do not know if French soldiers were awarded this decoration in Côte d'Ivoire.

There are to my knowledge another medal of CEDEOA awarded it to some French troops or observers in LIBERIA. A few soldiers get this one.

I thought I saw a photo of this medal in a placard of a French soldier somewhere in the Forum, but couldn't find it anymore. Maybe it was some other Forum. But the main thing is that it has been awarded to Frenh soldiers also, although carrying in the uniform is forbidden, right?
Any idea who is manufacturing the medal?
