Bonjour a tous , Enclosed a photo of my French cloth parawings in a frame I hope will be filled one day. Can anyone show me some other models so I know what to hunt? Before anyone asks, the golden parawing on black backround in the center of the frame is a liner of a beret. Cordialement, Harri

Hi Harri ; The wings embroidered on blue, green bottom are for GIGN , EPIGN and GSIGN . The wing embroidered on flecktarn bottom are for the members of the German army who jumped or who obtained the French patent , this embroidered on gray/green bottom are for German army too . So in this shop you could find one what you haven't http://www.outremer-surplus.net/Insignes/tissuBV.htmSo ! you can seek these models ,the free french parawings like after this of air forces but the most embroidered French parawings are used by foreign army . See you ...

Bonjour and thanks for comments clichy63 and KR48 and especially for the good link. Yes, I know some wings are not even used by French soldiers, I just wanted to collect all possible cloth variations of French parawing as I find it most attractive style and design as well as Metro para beret badge. Both insignias has a long history and they also look "cool". By the way, has the Metro para beret badge ever been used by any French unit in cloth form (en tissu)? I know it exists in bullion (brode cannetille). Cordialement, Harri.

Hi Harri I will say to you no ! but in fact i'm not really sure the beret badge in this form was not used !!! I know the French AFAT/PFAT(women in army ) Parachute Rigger had used a bullion badge but it wad used like patch that was at the end of the 40' early 50' I remember Partisan 21 had asked a question about a bullion badge what he have in his collection in another form than this of my next answer . Quelqu'un sur le forum pourrait-il répondre à la question d'Harri qui est à savoir si des insignes de béret brodé ont été porté " réglementairement " ??? Merci ! Cdt KR48

Thanks KR48 for kind answer. Enclosed a picture of a bullion Metro para beret badge in red backround that I traded several years ago from American dealer. It was suppose to be a "mercenary beret badge from Africa (Congo) from the 60's". I know that this exists in green backround also and propably both are manyfactured by tailorshops near Para School in Pau???? They also manufacture Metro para beret badge in subdued cloth (black motif on green backround) in States. I believe it is mainly sold as a souvenir for soldiers and as a mercenary patch for general public. Amicalement, Harri.
